Company Profile

企業理念
The joy of moving for all customers.

This is the philosophy that we have inherited over the 60 years since our founding.

We started with 13 taxis, but now we have a wide variety of vehicles ranging from small to large buses, as well as crews to attend them. We have also started to work in the field of welfare transportation, an area in which we are making a greater contribution to society.

From now on, in Japan, the social situation surrounding mobility will change moment by moment, such as the diversification and globalization of lifestyles, the progress of a super-aging society, and the shift to self-driving cars. However, we believe that it is a universal fact that even as the times change, the act of moving is essential for everyone. People can make their lives richer by moving as they please. Without forgetting this philosophy, we would like to develop our business into a more convenient service.

Based on our company philosophy of "providing the joy of mobility to all customers," we will continue to strive every day to contribute to local communities and realize a universal society. Thank you very much.

History

Founded in 1960. The company overcame the oil crisis and doubled its size, taking no chances even in a recession. The company's performance continued to grow steadily throughout the Showa period, just like Japan's economic growth.

Tokyo, a metropolis rich in tourist resources at the time, did not have the sightseeing taxi that Kyoto, a well-known sightseeing spot, had. Hitachi Automobile Transportation Co., Ltd. saw the potential in this and took on the challenge from scratch, launching the first sightseeing taxi business in Tokyo in 1998.

Based on the belief from the company's inception that “profits should be returned to local residents”, in 2000 the company started a community bus business in Adachi Ward. Although the small buses were not profitable, the top priority was to meet the expectations of the local Adachi Ward residents. Profitability was considered beyond that.

At the time, the greatest wish for people with disabilities was to be able to travel together. A crew member felt that “both able-bodied people and people with disabilities should have the same right to enjoy the same pleasure”, which led to the introduction of the welfare sightseeing bus. This event symbolized the Hitachi Automobile Transportation Group's philosophy of "providing all customers with the joy of transportation”.

Currently, the Hitachi Motor Transportation Group's business extends beyond the taxi business to a wide range of other areas, including welfare transportation and community buses. When considering future business development as a comprehensive passenger transport company, we will be forced to make more choices, taking into account various changes in the world's environment, such as the declining birthrate and aging population. We are now in an era where past successes alone cannot compete. In such a situation, I have an answer. ``I will think about the future together with new people.'' In the spring of 2012, the Hitachi Motor Transportation Group began hiring new graduates.

We are actively introducing Toyota's next-generation vehicle, "JPN TAXI,'' which satisfies every aspect, including a design that allows wheelchairs to get in and out, a spacious interior, high environmental performance, and safety. We are making steady progress toward realizing a universal society.

In 2019, we were the first in the industry to introduce SORA, a hydrogen fuel cell bus, on some routes. We are striving to embody our corporate philosophy, including excellent environmental performance, a comfortable ride with little noise and vibration, and a universal design that is compatible with strollers and wheelchairs.
